Who we are!

The Pocono Bluegrass and Folk Society was started in 2000 as a non-profit organization established to promote and support Bluegrass and acoustic music in the Eastern Pennsylvania and Northern New Jersey region.  The main activites of the PB&FS are monthly shows and jam sessions at the Elks Club in East Stroudsburg, PA and the annual Winterfest, a three day festival in early Febuary at the Elks Club and other venues in the Pocono area.

Another function of the PB&FS is maintaining a scholarship fund promoting musical education for local students and operating a children's program during Winterfest that features musical and other folklore activities.

For the last three years the PB&FS has had tax exempt status qualifying it for fully deductible donations and grants.

The Pocono Bluegrass and Folk Society officers are:
                            Neil Morris - President
                            John Updike - Vice President
                            Pete Pappalardo - Treasurer
                            Ken Pierson - Secretary.

The Pocono Bluegrass and Folk Society together with the Pocono Arts Council conduct a raffle of musical instruments featuring a Martin guitar as a fund raising activity.
