"It's Scottish bagpipes and old time fiddlin.  It's Methodist, Holiness and Baptist.  It's blues and jazz and it has a high lonesome sound.  It's plain music and it tells a good story.  I want it to go from my heart to your heart and I want us both to hear it"  Bill Monroe on Bluegrass

Welcome to the Pocono Bluegrass and Folk Society.  Our focus is to bring attention to bluegrass music in the Poconos.  Bluegrass is a great American art form and deserves to be promoted and preserved.  It has its roots in Irish, Scottish and English traditional music and was inspired by the music of immigrants from the United Kingdom and Ireland as well as jazz and blues. Whether you are new to Bluegrass or a seasoned bluegrass musician we hope you will find information here that is useful.  We also hope that you will join us at one of our Shindigs or the Winterfest.  The only thing better than bluegrass music is bluegrass music shared with a friend.
